Exploring Budapest

Budapest is defiantly the place to be this year. After seeing so many people on Instagram exploring the city my sister and I decided to take a trip.

Just a few hours before flying the accommodation we were supposed to be staying in had a flood, so that was a bit of a nightmare. Therefore we had to find somewhere else to stay...

We found OSHO Apartments on booking.com and I have got to say we were so lucky because this turned out to be a great apartment.

We arrived and it wasn't at all what I was expecting, behind a big old door there was a courtyard with an old staircase up to the apartment. It was in such a good location, down one of the little streets with numerous cafes and bars. It had lovely large windows which let in lots of sunlight, the rooms were modern and very spacious.

I'd definitely recommend!

THE FOOD AND DRINK

My sister is celiac and honestly Budapest caters for it so well. Everywhere seemed to have Gluten Free options on the menu which normally we find hard to find abroad. We found this lovely gluten free restaurant called 'Drop Gluten Free Restaurant'... It even had donuts!

The Vintage Garden is definitely a place to visit, it's a little cafe about 3 minute walk from our apartment. You can eat inside or out the back where theres a little garden with pink cherry blossom everywhere, it's really cute - very instagrammable !

High Note Sky Bar was a rooftop bar that we visited, which was located city centre at the Aria Hotel. Well worth a visit, felt very luxurious with comfortable seating and it's great on a sunny day. It had a stunning view over the city, definitely exceeded expectations!

Szimpla Kert, this was a ruin bar and if you travel to see things you haven't seen before, put this on your list. The interiors are pretty cool, it's partly outdoor which is quirky and artsy with colourful lighting at night.

We took a day to visit the Szechenyi Baths as this is one of the biggest and most popular of all the thermal baths in Budapest. We used the subway to get there which is pretty easy as long as you validate your tickets, but that's a whole different story ha ha.

It was quite busy when we was there so we just picked a spot and enjoyed the surroundings. It's a pretty cool place to hang out for some drinks.

Make sure to visit Budapest!
