Great John Street Hotel
I wanted to do something special for Joe's 21st Birthday, so as we loved King Street Townhouse last time we visited Manchester I thought I'd surprise him with Great John Street - Eclectic Hotels.
When I arrived I didn't know what to expect, it's a beauitful old building in the centre of Manchester. The hotel has it's own underground car park which is always great these days, we drove up outside the hotel, left our car and the porter parked it for us.
First impressions of inside, looks just like King Street Townhouse, the reception and the bar areas are quirky with downlight lighting.
I had decided to order a special balloon from Bubblegum Balloons for Joe. I had it sent straight to the hotel so it would be there for when we arrived.
We were shown to the room and what a surprise it was, the balloon had been put in the room unwrapped along with some little cakes and cookies saying Happy Birthday (which I hadn't asked for).
I was blown away, the room was so big, it even had an mezzanine which was the bathroom. It was lovely, it had two wash basins & two free standing baths next to another which we loved.
After a nice bath we headed out to dinner at The Hawksmoor (AMAZING, but thats another story!).
So when you're in such a lovely room like this the one thing you have to do is order room service. They had little door hangers which you ticked from a selection of foods you wanted and hung it outside your door at night ready for in the morning.
After Joe had opened up his presents, we heard a knock at the door at 8.30am just the time we had requested. A women bought us the food in on a tray which was presented so nicely.
The breakfast was lovely we had a full english each, toast to share & I picked fresh fruit with yogurt whilst Joe had chosen a chocolate croissant. There were three different jams for the toast in tiny little jars which I thought was lovely.
We were very happy with Birthday breakfast in the comfy kingsize bed!!
I absolutely love Eclectic Hotels!
We will 100% be visiting Eclectic Hotels again no doubt about it.
Love T x
